Life Goals

My Life Goals
Listed below are my goals for this life. Some can be accomplished soon and some will take my entire life to finish. I don’t have very many “huge” goals, but each day, week, month I have other goals that I check off – they are helping me to reach my big goals. Someday these may change to include other things – things like more education or a career but overall, the following are my main goals. These aren’t in a particular order, but they are all important to me.

·         Have a happy, eternal marriage and raise a happy family
o   I grew up in a large happy family and married into the same. I have been surrounded with fantastic examples of successful, happy marriages and have every desire to emulate those in my life. I was sealed to my sweet husband three years ago – just over a year after we were married civilly. That was the start of this most important goal.

·         Finish my bachelor’s degree
o   I have a two semesters left to finish my degree in University Studies with a minor in Marriage and Family Studies, and clusters in Preschool Education and Developmental Psychology. I have this goal for a few reasons. One is that I want my children to know how much I value education and how important it is. The second is that we have been counseled by President Hinckley to get an education and I want to fulfill that counsel.

·         Learn to play the piano
o   I started this goal as a young child. After taking piano lessons for six years, I quit and have done little with this goal since. I occasionally plink out a tune on my Mom’s piano but I would love to be able to play the hymns.

·         Sew a quilt
o   This is a silly goal for some, but for me it’s big. I started teaching myself to sew about a year ago on a machine I received as a gift from my husband’s Grandma. I have tackled little projects so far – bibs, burp cloths, little dolly diapers, car seat covers and tablecloths. Someday though, I want to sew a quilt with matching pillow shams for my bedroom.
